Beef mince cooked in a delicious, homemade Korean-style sauce served with rice and spring onion.
Quick Korean Beef is extremely quick to make and tastes amazing. Family favourite, beef mince, gets a whole lot more exciting when cooked in the homemade Korean style, sticky sauce.
The sauce is totally kid friendly. If you like a bit of spice, add some sriracha to your meal just before serving. This meal also tastes great made with chicken or pork mince if you prefer.
How to make Korean Beef:
Heat sesame oil in a large frying pan, add the onion and carrot. Cook, stirring for 5 minutes. Add mince and break up with a spoon. Cook for 5-10 minutes until mince is browned all over. Add garlic and ginger, stir through the mince until fragrant.
In a small jug mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and cornflour. Pour over the mince and stir through. Dissolve the oxo cube in boiling water and pour into the frying pan.
Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens up. Season to taste. Serve on fluffy white rice with a swirl of sriracha on top and a garnish of spring onion.
Mince meals are some of the most popular dinner recipes on my website. Some absolute favourites include One Pot Mince and Pasta, Vanya's Lasagne, Classic Spaghetti Bolognese and Chilli Con Carne.
Common questions for Korean Beef:
Is this meal kid-friendly? Yes. The flavours are mild and most kids love rice and mince.
Can this meal be frozen? Absolutely. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to three months. Reheat until piping hot.
