A beautiful and impressive Whole baked salmon that only takes 20 minutes to cook. Marinate overnight or 30 minutes before cooking.
The benefits of eating fish, and in particular salmon, are widely documented. I like to mix up the way I serve it including this impressive recipe for Honey and Soy Glazed Whole Baked Salmon.
A whole side of salmon isn't cheap. But it is an impressive and delicious meal to make for loved ones, and will feed up to 8 people with other side dishes. Marinate the salmon in the glaze for at least 30 minutes, or overnight if you have the time.
How to make Honey Glazed Salmon:
In a small glass jug, melt honey for 20 seconds in the microwave. Add the soy sauce, ginger and lemon juice then whisk to combine. Remove any bones from the salmon then gently brush over the marinade. Marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or overnight if you want to prepare ahead. Reserve any extra marinade to use during cooking.
Preheat oven to 180°C fan bake. Place the salmon on a lined baking tray and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, gently brush over any excess marinade then return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes.
Once cooked through, place your salmon fillet on a large serving platter and garnish with fresh pomegranate, mint leaves and lemon zest. Serve immediately.
Salmon is such a treat. I love cooking with it when it's on special. Some of my most popular salmon recipes include Grilled Honey Soy Salmon Rice Bowls, Smoked Salmon Pasta, Grilled Salmon and Potato Salad and Grilled Miso Salmon Bowl.
Common questions and tips for Whole Baked Salmon:
What could I use instead of pomegranates? If you can't find pomegranate seeds, you could either leave them out, or drizzle over some pomegranate glaze.
What sides would be good with meal? Almost anything! I served mine with glazed carrots and buttery beans. Roast potatoes would be great too.

Karen
Could I cook this on the BBQ instead? If so would the cooking time be the same? Thanks!

Hi Karen, I haven't tried it on the BBQ sorry. Perhaps if you had it in a frying pan and a lid down over the top it might work? Let me know how you get on.
