My cheeseburger sliders are ideal for sharing with a crowd. Using quick, tasty, homemade beef mince patties, topped with cheese and gherkin on toasted slider buns, these pull-apart burgers are a fun dinner with family and friends.
Everyone loves a burger, and my Cheeseburger Sliders were inspired by feeding a large group of boys at a birthday party. While you can buy slider patties from some supermarkets, this recipe shows how quick and easy it is to make your own at home - and they are so delicious!
Beef mince is a great, cost-effective base for plenty of other dinner recipes, so if you love this, you should try my popular One Pot Mince and Pasta, or my Mexican Style Beef Mince. Both are ideal for making in a big batch and freeze well too.

Ingredient notes:
- Beef Mince: Beef mince is my go-to, but you could always use pork or chicken mince for something different!
- Slider Buns: You should be able to find these in the fresh bakery or bread section at your local supermarket.
- Cheese: I like using the pre-sliced cheese for these sliders just to make the assembling even quicker. But any cheese will do.
- Gherkins: I love gherkins on my burgers, but you can always leave these out if you don't like them.

Step by step instructions:
Place all of the meat patty ingredients into a large bowl. Mix together with your hands or a wooden spoon. Shape into 12 patties.
Fry the patties for a couple of minutes on each side until cooked through.
Preheat the oven to 160°C fan bake. Without separating the rolls, slice them in half in one group so that you have a layer of tops and a layer of bottoms. Line a large baking tray with baking paper, then place all the bottom buns on the tray.
Spread tomato ketchup across the bottom of all the buns. Place a blob of mustard on each bun then a cooked patty on top. Add a slice of gherkin to each patty, then add the large slices of cheddar across all of the buns.
Place the top layer of buns back on top. Cook in the oven for approximately 10 minutes until the cheese has melted. Serve immediately.
Recipe FAQs:
A slider bun is smaller than normal sized burger buns, which makes them perfect for a snack, or to combine with something else (like hot chips) for dinner.
A good size is a handful of mince, rolled into a ball (slightly bigger than a golf ball) and then flattened to about 1cm thick. As they cook, they will shrink.
In this recipe I've used tomato sauce and mustard, but you could also use a special burger sauce, aioli, BBQ sauce, mayonnaise or anything else you like!
Top tips:
These are best enjoyed straight from the oven, so make sure everyone is all washed up and waiting for them to arrive on the table or kitchen bench. I'd also suggest popping them on large wooden board so everyone can grab their own.
