Ingredient notes:
- Pizza bases: For convenience, I've used store-bought pizzas here. You could also make your own from scratch using my easy Pizza Dough recipe.
- Gherkins: If you're cooking for people who remove the gherkin from their burgers, you can leave one of your pizzas gherkin free!
- Burger sauce: This store-bought Secret Burger Sauce is pretty amazing. If you want to make your own, why not try your hand at my Big Mac Style Sauce.

Step by step instructions:
Using a large non-stick frying pan over a medium heat, add the oil and the mince, then fry until it has browned.
Dissolve the stock cube in the boiling water. Pour into the pan and stir through the mince. Keep stirring until most of the stock has evaporated. Season well with salt and pepper. Remove from the heat and set aside ready to prepare the pizzas.
Preheat the oven to 200°C fan bake. Spread 3 tablespoons of ketchup over each pizza base. Divide the mince between the two pizzas and spread out to the edges.
Scatter over the diced onion and then the grated cheese. Place the sliced gherkins on top, then bake in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes until cooked through.
Once cooked, scatter over the lettuce and sesame seeds then drizzle over the burger sauce.
Cut into slices and serve immediately.
Recipe FAQs:
A Big Mac Pizza is a type of pizza inspired by the popular McDonald's Big Mac burger. It combines the flavours and ingredients of a Big Mac with the traditional elements of a pizza.
Yes! Simply swap your regular pizza bases for gluten free bases. Ensure your beef stock and Burger Sauce are gluten free too (the sauce in the pictures is gluten free).
Of course. It won't have quite the same authentic taste as a Big Mac (which is made with a beef patty) but it will still be very very tasty.
Storage:
Store any leftover pizza in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Either enjoy cold, or reheat in the oven, microwave or air fryer until piping hot.
Top tips:
If you are reheating leftover pizza later, perhaps remove the lettuce first. Then you can add fresh lettuce to the top once hot.
