Easy and tasty sliders made from pre-cooked chicken coated in a BBQ sauce topped with grated cheese, grilled in a dinner roll, then topped with coleslaw. A crowd-pleasing snack.
Sliders are popular for good reason. They are tasty little morsels that you can eat with your hands and make excellent pass-around food at a party. My BBQ Chicken Sliders are no exception. Made from pre-cooked chicken and pre-made coleslaw it really doesn't get much easier than this.
I like to serve this at a party with other share plates, including my Chicken and Courgette Dippers or my Moroccan Lamb Pies.

Ingredient notes:
- Chicken: I used a pre-cooked chicken from my local supermarket. You could also use leftover roast chicken, or poach/grill some chicken breast to use.
- Bread rolls: I love using these par-baked dinner rolls in this recipe. The rolls get to finish off nicely in the oven while the chicken warms through and the cheese melts.
- Coleslaw: For convenience I used a bag of pre-made coleslaw. You could also use deli coleslaw from your supermarket or make your own.

Step by step instructions:
Preheat the oven to 200°C fan grill. In a bowl, mix together the cooked chicken and BBQ sauce.
Cut down the centre of each roll, but not all the way through. Divide the chicken mixture evenly between the 12 rolls, then sprinkle over the grated cheese.
Place under the grill for 5 minutes until the chicken is hot and the cheese is melted. Keep an eye on the oven so they don’t burn.
Remove from the oven. Add some coleslaw to each roll, then top with BBQ sauce and Japanese mayo. Garnish with spring onion and serve immediately.
Recipe FAQs:
Yes, simply swap the dinner rolls for gluten free bread rolls of your choice. As always, ensure any processed food is labelled as gluten free.
Grilled corn on the cob, salad or your favourite potato dishes would all be good options. Why not try my Easy Cheesy Potato Bake?
Storage:
I recommend only making up as many rolls as you think will be eaten immediately. Any leftover chicken and coleslaw can be stored in the fridge in seperate bags/containers until you want to grill more buns.
Top tips:
The dinner rolls could be swapped for long rolls if you want to make a sub instead.
