These Hash Bite Burger Bowls are the ultimate family meal. Part fakeaway, part deconstructed burger, completely delicious. The best part of any bowl meal is that everyone can add the toppings and portions they prefer. A bun is merely a vessel to carry the more flavoursome parts of a burger so why not skip it all together and enjoy these burger bowls instead? Ingredient notes:

- Mince: The classic choice for this meal is beef mince. However feel free to use chicken, pork, lamb or even venison mince if you have it to hand.
- Hash bites: If you can't find these delicious little hash bites, you could also use regular hash browns, fries or roasted potatoes.
- Burger sauce: I find it deeply satisfying making my own burger sauce. But by all means, use a pre-made burger sauce if you have it to hand!

Step by step instructions:
Preheat the oven to 200°C fan bake. Spread the frozen hash bites on a lined oven tray. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until crispy and golden. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.


Sauté the onion until softened then add the beef mince to the pan and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned. Season well with salt and pepper.


In a small bowl, mix together all of the burger sauce ingredients. Place in the fridge until needed. Assemble the bowls: Divide the hot hash bites between four serving bowls.


Top each with cooked mince, grated cheese, lettuce, diced tomato, sliced gherkins, spoonfuls of burger sauce and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy.
