Caramilk rocky road is the perfect homemade treat - filled with marshmallows, Maltesers and roasted almonds. A lovely treat to gift!
You can’t beat a homemade Christmas gift and this Caramilk rocky road will be sure to impress your friends and family. Rocky road is one of my favourite things to make! The combination of chocolate and delicious filling is so fun to whip up in the kitchen and the kids can join into too, even if it’s just to lick the bowl.
Rocky road is so versatile and this easy recipe only has 4 ingredients. The roasted almonds give a nice crunch along with the Maltesers. You can easily swap for any of your other favourite nuts, dried fruit or confectionary.
HOW TO MAKE CARAMILK ROCKY ROAD:
This recipe is so easy! First of all melt the Caramilk chocolate, I used my microwave but if you don’t have one you can use a saucepan on the stove. Mine took about 90 seconds but all microwaves are different so do it in 20 second bursts (you don't want to burn your precious Caramilk).
Add the almonds, marshmallows and Maltesers then stir it together. Line a 20 x 20 cm tray with baking paper. You can use a bigger tray but the rocky road will be thinner.
Pour in the Caramilk mixture and spread to the edges of the tray. Set your rocky road in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight. Remove the rocky road from the fridge 20 minutes before chopping, this makes it easier to cut into small pieces.
I like to keep mine in the fridge until ready to gift to a friend or family member. Or if it is too tasty to give away just keep it for yourself in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
After the success of my Caramilk Chunk Cookies and Caramilk mousse I thought it was time for a quick and easy rocky road.
THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND TEACHERS:
Pop your Caramilk rocky road into little boxes or wrap up with some cellophane and ribbon. It is the perfect and affordable gift for a loved one this Christmas. I used paper takeaway style boxes and put a cute ribbon and card on top. If you want to try some different flavours check out this post for Christmas rocky road - 3 ways.
My boys Archie and Henry loved giving the cute boxes to their deserving Kindy teachers last year. A perfect end of year thank-you and Christmas present from our family.
