Ingredient notes:

- Burger patties: You can either use pre-made burger patties like I have here, or make your own from beef mince.
- Potatoes: Use either shoe-string fries, lattice potato fries or make your own chips from potatoes.
- Big Mac sauce: This is my go-to recipe for the most amazing Big Mac dupe sauce. Made from pantry staples, you won't believe how easy this is to put together.

Step by step instructions:
Preheat the oven to 200°C fan bake. On a large baking tray, spread the oven chips. Place the burger patties on a second tray.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning the chips and flipping the burger patties halfway through cooking. Cook until the chips are crispy and golden and the patties are cooked through (option - you can add a slice of cheese to the patties for the last 5 minutes of the cook time if you like).

While everything is cooking, make the burger sauce. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, tomato sauce, garlic powder, grated gherkins and pickle juice to a small bowl. Mix well and place in the fridge until needed.

Cut the cooked burger patties into bite-sized pieces. Divide the hot chips between four bowls. Top with the burger pieces, grated cheese, lettuce, tomato and sliced gherkins. Spoon over the burger sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Recipe FAQs:
Yes! Air fry the chips and burger patties according to the packet instructions, then assemble the bowls as directed. This is a great option if you want extra crispy chips.
Absolutely. Homemade beef burger patties work really well in this recipe. Just make sure they are cooked all the way through before cutting them into bite-sized pieces.
There are lots of delicious options! Try crispy bacon, fried onions, red onion or even jalapeños. You could also add extra cheese if you're a big fan of cheeseburgers.
Storage:
This is best eaten fresh but you can store leftover burger patties and toppings separately in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat the chips and burger patties in the oven or air fryer to crisp them back up before serving.
Top tips:
- I have tried this with lattice and shoestring fries, but any style of frozen fries works well, including crinkle and straight cut.
- Add crispy bacon, fried onion or sliced red onion for extra flavour.
- Use air fryer chips if you prefer.
