Classic Savoury Mince made from beef mince cooked with onions, garlic, HP sauce, beef stock, dried herbs and mixed frozen vegetables. An anytime meal that's super filling.

Alongside Corned Beef and Curried Sausages, Savoury Mince has been once of the most requested recipes on my website. And for good reason. It's one of those any-time meals that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's full of flavour and protein, making it the perfect meal to feed hungry people! Enjoy on toast with a fried egg, on rice or over a baked potato.
Ingredient notes:

- Mince: This recipe calls for lean beef mince. The higher the fat content, the more greasy the mixture will become.
- HP Sauce: Can be substituted for BBQ sauce if you need. This adds depth of flavour to the sauce.
- Frozen mixed veggies: This is a super affordable and convenient way to add some nutrients to your meal. You could substitute for fresh carrots, and fresh or canned corn if you have those to hand.

Step by step instructions:
Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for a few minutes until softened. Add the beef mince and cook, breaking it up as you go, until browned. Sprinkle over the mixed herbs then add the garlic and HP sauce. Stir to combine and cook for 1-2 minutes. Sprinkle over the flour and stir well to coat the mince.

Dissolve the stock cube in the boiling water, then pour into the pan and stir. Add the frozen mixed vegetables and stir to combine.

Simmer for around 5 minutes until the vegetables are cooked through and the sauce thickens to a gravy-like consistency.

Season to taste with salt and pepper. If you'd like it a little sweeter, stir through the optional tomato sauce. Serve on toast with a fried egg, over steamed rice or on top of mashed potato.
